Our story begins with a passion for gardening, passed down from our founder Lutz's mother, an avid gardener who inspired him to create a better way to nurture plants while respecting the planet. Growing up surrounded by the beauty of nature at "Rose Acres," their family home, Lutz learned the value of hard work, dedication, and the importance of preserving the environment for future generations. Lutz's mother's love for rose gardens was contagious, and he fondly remembers her saying, "Boy, I wish my flowers would grow as fast as these weeds." Her frustration with traditional gardening methods sparked an idea in Lutz. As Lutz's interest in gardening grew, he began to notice the widespread use of pesticides and other harsh chemicals in gardening practices. One experience that left a lasting impression on him was seeing the extensive use of pesticides on a golf course. This moment made him realize the urgent need for a more sustainable and eco- friendly approach to gardening. Lutz began experimenting with innovative solutions, determined to create a watering and fertilizing system that would make gardening easier, more efficient, and eco-friendly. This marked the birth of Root Genie, and Lutz's patented technology, which delivers water and nutrients directly to the roots, reducing waste and promoting healthy growth.
